The ever-popular series kick-off race never disappoints. It's a classic 5 mile (or so) blend of fast hilly cross-country on rough limestone tracks with stupendous 360 degree views (for spectators out on the course).  The senior race and shorter junior races all start with a fast charge across the flat field before heading out onto the rough Scar area where the pace settles. Year upon year it attracts a large number of runners from all over Cumbria, Lancs and N Yorks. Junior and Senior races alike can have over 200 starters.

The junior races start at 12.00 (please allow 15mins to sign in and pay before the start of your race) and the senior race at 1.00 - last registration/collect number at 12.45.

You must not attempt to race if you have not registered for that race - 'extra' runners will cause a delay at the start whilst we work out who you are!

The cost is £5 for seniors and £1 for juniors. Please bring cash, we will be trialling a card payment system but just in case....

Also due to landowners' request - please no dogs at the races.
