Howgill Fell Race
Proven experience of having completed an AL category fell race or equivalent alternative to the satisfaction of the Organisers will be needed and should be provided with your entry.
This race is over a rough, tough, largely pathless course with slippy uneven ground that is rocky. The weather in April is rarely ‘pleasant’ and the fells are often clagged in, making navigation difficult on a course with many pathless sections. If you are at all unsure of your ability to complete the course safely, you should gain more experience and come back another year.
Advice and safety details for all runners is here: http://fellrunner.org.uk/documents.php . It is your responsibility to be prepared and suitably knowledgeable to undertake this race.
Car Parking
There are two public car parks in Sedbergh at:
- Joss Lane car park, at the end of Main Street. LA10 5AB
- Loftus Hill, LA10 5RX
There is parking on Busk Lane, although only park on the side which has not be coned off.
Neither of the above car parks is more than a 3-4 minute walk from the race registration so please be considerate and use these parking spaces and lift share where possible.
There is very limited parking on Howgill Lane that is to be used by the race marshalls. DO NOT park on the lane beyond the playing field as the streets are used by residents for parking.
