RUN DETAILED INFO
All runners must wear clothing appropriate to the weather and carry race kit consisting a waterproof top, hat, gloves, whistle. Under 17/19 runners should also carry waterproof trousers.
All juniors will run in their age category for 2024 and be accompanied by Helm Hill leaders and coaches throughout.
U17/U19 will run a steady pace on Helm Hills ‘Carnethy Course’ training route which is approx 10km and 700m of climbing.
U11/U13/U15 will all run in a team relay competition. This will involve 30 minutes to collect as many points as possible from a number of different bases from a start location which is half way up Winder!
U9 can take part in the team relay only if accompanied by parents. The start is approx 1.5km and 175m of climbing from the Peoples Hall and needs to be reached within 30mins. The shortest route will be flagged from the fellgate above Lockbank Farm. Please make sure the fellgate is kept closed.
Parents are very welcome to spectate on the hill and the whole relay route is visible from the start so we can all cheer on the runners.
In the event of unexpected inclement weather age groups may instead be taken on a continuous run by Helm Hill leaders and coaches. The same kit requirements and timings will apply.
