Kentmere Horseshoe
Results here for the 4th English Championship counter. Amazing running once again from Chris R who came in 2nd a shade outside the old record, with Rob Jebb (2nd v40) Phil Rutter, Sam Dixon and Adam Perry helping Helm to 2nd team. Hannah was once again first back for the ladies in 6th and with Sharon (2nd v40) and Bianca made it 3rd Team - a great turnout for the club in our local race with over 50 runners....Also great to see 3 u23s racing with Lewis Bowness coming 3rd, Jack Byrne 6th and Nick Peat 7th.
Alderman's Ascent English Championship success
Alderman's ascent was the third championship race and was conducted in what could only be described as a cauldron. Great running by all Helm who made the trip and with some fantastic results in the conditions. Chris Richards 4th and Hannah Russell 5th were first back for Helm and news just in, their efforts have been rewarded with senior England vests; a brilliant result. Not only that, but returning to racing Lucy Spain, had a fine run to assist Hannah and Sharon to first team. Following on from strong performances in the first race, Ennerdale, where Rob Jebb, Phil Rutter, Joe Kenny, Chris Richards and Adam Perry help the men take second team, and Sharon Taylor, Janie Oates and Victoria Thompson took first for the women. Blencathra was the 2nd race and once again Chris had a fine run for 2nd and in the women's Hannah 3rd helped the team to 3rd place with Sharon and Jenny Rice. Full standings can be found here. Kentmere next.
Racing is back
Finally, we have returned to the fells in competitive mode. Well done to Sharon Taylor for 2nd at the Burnsall half trail marathon, with Rob Jebb 4th and Greg Munsch 29th. We also saw the start of the Kong series at Clough Head with a great run by Hannah Russell to come in 3rd and leading the ladies to the team prize with Rebecca Wilson and Vicky Atkinson. Ross Bibby first back for Helm men closely followed by Will Laye and Rory Addison. Results. And what is traditionally seen as the season opener Loughrigg took place on Wednesday night, and in what has become a small tradition with the juniors showing the seniors the way. Well done Dylan Cater a fine run to be first back for Helm, and Hannah Keenan first back for the ladies in her first race.
Return to Training
After what seems like an age, we can return to training as of the 31st March. Initially we are planning a similar format to last time and there will be further details shortly, in the meantime see here
Memberships
Memberships will be due from the 1st April and as in previous years we will have an 'early bird' offer for 1 month. We would also like to encourage members to sign up for the direct debit which means you will never miss the discount rate and it also makes the life of our long suffering membership secretary easier. Apart from all the obvious benefits, bear in mind it is important to join for the purposes of insurance at races training etc.....
